Investigators are working to determine what started a fire Monday in that caused $400,000 in damage to a home on Hedstrom Drive. At 10:30 AM, the Snyder Fire Department along with automatic mutual aid from Eggertsville Hose, and Getzville Fire Companies were alerted for the reported fire. On arrival, crews found advanced fire conditions in a 1.5 story wood frame structure. Shortly after arrival, the Incident Commander requested a 2nd alarm bringing apparatus and crews from Williamsville, Main-Transit and Cleve-Hill Fire Departments. Fire crews made an initial interior push on attacking the fire, but heavy fire conditions forced crews out. After an aggressive exterior attack gained control of the fire, The fire was declared under control at approximately 11:40. Damage was estimated at $200,000 to the structure and another $200,000 to the contents.
Additionally on scene assisting were the Amherst Police Department, Amherst Fire Investigators, and Twin City Ambulance.
